Hillary Violates Espionage Act

One of the Hillary Clinton emails exposed by Wikileaks immediately caught my attention.  As a (retired) career intelligence professional, I recognized this one as particularly worrisome.
In the 2 August, 2010 email, then Secretary of State Clinton asks aide Huma Abedin
Maybe one of Anthony’s trusted staff could deliver secure phone?
“Anthony” being Abedin’s now estranged husband and disgraced New York politician, Anthony Weiner.  Abedin responded:
Ok I will  [redacted] just fedex secure cell phone from dc. Anthony leaving office to bring me to airport now so hopefully will make it just in time.
Assuming the transfer of a secure communications device was accomplished by giving or transporting  it to unauthorized persons or through unauthorized/unsecured carriers, either by commercial carrier (Fedex) or Weiner or someone from his staff, Secretary Clinton violated the Espionage Act (see below).
Had “bad actors” gotten possession of the secure telephone, encryption software, special electronics or extremely sensitive communications algorithms would have been jeopardized.  It would also possible that the phone would have been “bugged.”
At the time, Anthony Weiner was a U.S. Congressman from New York.  It was less than a year after the email was sent that a lewd photo appear on Weiner’s Twitter account.  That photo, and subsequent images and texts led to Weiner’s political downfall and the demise of his marriage.  It is not beyond comprehension to consider that someone knew about Weiner’s sexual proclivities.  Given those circumstances, he would have been an excellent candidate for extortion.
Weiner’s indiscretions aside, the law was broken because neither he, nor a “trusted staff” member were authorized to handle the secure cell phone.  Even though Weiner, as a member of Congress, had certain security clearances, they would NOT have been as high or specific as that of the Secretary of State.
The relevant section of the “Espionage Act” reads (emphasis added):
U.S. Code Title 18 > Part I › Chapter 37 › § 793
(f) “Whoever, being entrusted with or having lawful possession or control of any document, writing, code book, signal book, sketch, photograph, photographic negative, blueprint, plan, map, model, instrument, appliance, note, or information, relating to the national defense, (1) through gross negligence permits the same to be removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of his trust, or to be lost, stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, or (2) having knowledge that the same has been illegally removed from its proper place of custody or delivered to anyone in violation of its trust, or lost, or stolen, abstracted, or destroyed, and fails to make prompt report of such loss, theft, abstraction, or destruction to his superior officer—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.
(g) If two or more persons conspire to violate any of the foregoing provisions of this section, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each of the parties to such conspiracy shall be subject to the punishment provided for the offense which is the object of such conspiracy.”
Allowing the possession and transfer of a sensitive, secure communications device, Hillary Clinton is clearly in violation of the law.

Putin, Trump and Lyin’ Hillary

Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager, Robby Mook, has made the astounding accusation that the recent release of Democratic National Committee emails was the work of Vladimir Putin working on behalf of Donald Trump.

There’s evidence Russian state actors broke into the DNC, stole those emails, and there are experts saying they are releasing these emails for the purpose of helping Donald Trump,” Mook told CNN’s Jake Tapper

Mook, the DNC and Hillary Clinton continue to show their contempt for the intellect of the American voter.  Naturally, Democrats want to divert attention from their ingrained corruption, but more revealing is that they want us to overlook the content of the emails and who wrote them.  They are trying to slay the messenger.  Except, in this case, they are even lying about who the messenger is!

There is a particular, revealing point about the absurdity of the accusation.  Trump has pledged to be tough on our adversaries.  Indeed, this is a primary and continuous aspect of Republican policy.  Not so for Democrats.

America has lost the respect of  foreign allies and antagonists alike during the administration of Barack Obama. International crises have been weakly addressed at best or ignored altogether.  But with an oblivious Commander-in-Chief and ineffectual Secretaries of State like Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, what else might one expect?

Russia has made huge and unchallenged advancements since Obama took office.

The forced Crimea annexation is a clear example of Russian hegemony, but not the only one.

Russian submarine operations are at “a level of Russian capability that we haven’t seen before according to Vice Admiral Clive Johnstone, Commander of NATO’s Maritime Command

Large scale exercises have been expanded in size and prevalence.

Strategic bomber patrols have grown in frequency and range in Europe as well as near Guam and even the U.S. West Coast.  Fly-bys and “buzzing” of American naval ships and even aircraft are becoming more bold and common.

Russia’s Special Forces training has ramped up.

Putin has teamed up with Bashar al-Assad in Syria which was a paramount factor in the rise of ISIS.

Vladimir Putin loves what Obama’s Administration has allowed him to do.  Obama has enabled Russia, as will Hillary, to continue to grow militarily and expand to a greater and more challenging global power, all in direct challenge to democracy.

Another Obama-like term or two will mean more deterioration of American military capabilities and diplomatic influence and Vladimir Putin will be able to encircle the United States and our allies with a great red menace that will be impossible to “reset.”

Putin helping Trump?  Oh the lies …

Hillary vs The Law vs The Truth

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has decided not to recommend criminal prosecution of Hillary Clinton for her handling of classified information.  The legal reasoning for this decision is complicated and nuanced and politically confusing.  Some people will be elated by the decision, some will be angry; both are wrong. The Fools We Are

The American voting public is showing itself to be a collection of the selfish, lazy, ignorant and foolish.  As the world gets smaller, its constriction is choking our economy, strangling our security and suffocating our national pride.  And all the while, we champion the most absurd group of political candidates in modern times.  Rather than caring, we just get more stupid.
